Why SensaTyre?
The products we sell are the products that we use ourselves. The reason why SensaTyre was added to the range was the result of a trip from the east to west back in 2001. Four punctures across two vehicles between Brisbane Qld and Newman in WA was quite acceptable, considering where we had been.
However, three tyres were destroyed on the return leg to Brisbane. The reason why these tyres failed was due to driving on a deflated tyre for too long. Tyres will delaminate in these conditions and eventually blow out.

SensaTyre Transmitter Options
Clamp Sensor
99% of the SensaTyre kits supplied are based on the strap transmitter. The majority of rims use a stainless steel Jubilee Clamp. However, we have also started to use large zip ties on some of the larger rims due to their design issues. The reason for the clamp transmitter is easy. The clamps or ties will fit all rims, it will retain the transmitter in the tyre and give real-time monitoring of accurate pressure and true temperature when driving down the road. The transmitter is also out of sight of those people who may like to steal the cap, it is out of the way of debris flying up off the road and it can’t rattle off. The battery life is 7 years so no need to look for batteries in 12 months to make the units work.
Valve-stem Replacement
The valve stem replacement is a very popular option for vehicle manufacturers.
The unit is mounted inside the wheel for real-time accurate measurements of pressure and temperature. This type of unit will be a large part of our business as vehicle manufacturers include TPMS into future models.
However, it is the type that the tyre fitters damage when they break the bead of the tyre on the rim.
Cap Transmitter
The cap transmitter offers convenience for any uses. Most people see that there is a saving as you only need to monitor the tyres that are on the road not the spares. Unfortunately, there are a number of issues that need to be considered when using these units. These include the fact that they can be stolen, rattle off on rough tracks, get damaged when driving or 4WDing and if you have rubber valve stems they may cause a deflation through the rubber valve stem due to the weight of the unit and centrifugal force. For this reason it should always be advised that steel valve stems be used. So our suggestion is to install clamp sensor style transmitters and you will not have a problem.
How do the tranmitters work?
The transmitters send a signal out every 38 seconds or up to a minute depending on which version you use. eg: Clamp transmitters are 38 seconds. This parcel of information registers on the receiver on the dash. If a dramatic change in pressure or temperature is identified the units will send a message and audible and visual warnings will alert on the screen to inform the driver. These alerts will also indicate which tyre has the issue.
Real Life Stories
Here is a photo of a 6 inch nail which came out of a tyre. SensaTyre came through again. A couple of beeps we pulled over and saw the puncture. I pulled out the nail and plugged the hole and we were off again. This is not the first time SensaTyre saved us not only a tyre but rims as well as we pull a tandem axle caravan.
While travelling near Carawine Gorge in WA we picked up a spanner near Telfar mine. The SensaTyre picked it up very quick and we were able to repair and keep driving. Who would have thought a spanner would puncture a tyre in such a remote place.
SensaTyre Kit Applications
